The Healthy Living Initiative Action Plan (completed 2019) support the inclusive growth of an isolated neighborhood into an mixed-income, health-focused community.

Sun Valley has formed an EcoDistrict to implement equitable, high performance redevelopment in the poorest census tract in the state. The Choice Neighborhoods Transformation Plan significantly expands housing choices, adds progressive district infrastructure, and supports microbusiness in a new Maker District.

A focus around youth includes family friendly housing surrounding the elementary school. A new riverfront park, South Platte River trail access, and gardens will welcome a vibrant and diverse community. The Healthy Living Action Plan and Design Guidelines leverage health research and resident experience to support social cohesion, healthy mind, daily active living and health equity outcomes.
