Tacoma Housing Authority Framework Plan

Led production of a framework report outlining the potential for a mixed-use, affordable housing development with four parcels, including up to 250 units and various shared amenities, designed as a community.

The 250 units, although distributed across 4 parcels, are designed as a community where buildings will speak to each other, sharing amenities. Community outreach was key for this site close to downtown Tacoma, and and the plan centered around efforts to prevent cultural and residential displacement and preserve the areas unique identity. To achieve this, the Mithun team engaged in 6 months of in depth community outreach and conversation, lead by the grassroots community artists and activists at Fab-5. This allowed our client, Tacoma Housing Authority, to integrate public feedback into the plan from its inception.
